FEATURED PROJECTS
Every project has its unique DNA

Capital & Refurbishment Programmes
Championed empowered teams in the delivery of sustained, high-volume capital programmes with Tesco and The Co-op Group, delivering refurbishments, extensions, small works and large volume roll out projects over several years. Accountable for the full end-to-end lifecycle — from pre-construction and planning through to handover — across multiple formats and geographies. Built and led high-performing teams, aligned cross-functional stakeholders, and drove consistent delivery at pace while maintaining control of time, cost, and quality. Known for a people-first leadership style that fosters trust, integrity, and high performance across internal teams and delivery partners.
Convenience New Store Programmes
Successfully led high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams in the end-to-end delivery of a sustained convenience new store programme across both Tesco and The Co-op Group, Consistently delivering 100+ new retail stores per year over multiple years.
Responsible for full lifecycle oversight - from pre-construction and feasibility planning, local planning and design, value engineering and cost reduction through to construction delivery and handover - the complexity varying from simple fit-outs to complex conversions to new brown/green field builds and including mixed use developments.

Logistics Programmes
Drove the delivery of a diverse portfolio of logistics and supply chain infrastructure projects, including major asset renewals, facility extensions, large-scale refurbishments, and new-build developments ranging from 10,000 to 600,000 sq ft.
Accountable for end-to-end programme delivery — from early feasibility and business case development through to construction, commissioning, and operational handover. Projects spanned live operational environments and greenfield developments, requiring close coordination with operations, property, commercial, and technical teams.
Cost Saving and Commerciality
An external benchmarking review of costs and processes by external consultants completed in 2023 stated there was a ‘very competitive and market leading approach with some opportunities to further improve our position’ - a testament to the below work carried out over the previous 6 years all improving ROI/ROC/Payback significantly:-
-
Procurement & Supplier Management:- Main Contractor full tender - rationalised base from many to 11 core partners; aligned rates; exited poor performers: Project management full tender - reduced suppliers from 7 to 3 improving efficiency: QS procurement - cut QS fees by 30% through smarter sourcing: Flooring full tender - introduced direct tile purchasing and dual installers: Developer shell specification - improved detail requirements to avoid costly rework and enhance long-term asset quality.
-
Governance, Standards & Commercial Strategy:- Lean store trial - removed over 30% of cost of a new store fit out through specification and process improvements: Delivery design manual - introduced and maintained standardised build guide for use in the field to create consistency: Cost tracking & dashboards - replaced spreadsheets with simplified dashboards to improve programme-level control: Asset depreciation extension - enhanced build quality led to extension of store depreciation term from 8 to 10 years with significant and positive financial impact.

Sustainability Project
Delivered a flagship project for sustainable retail construction, exemplifying the commitment to environmental responsibility and long-term operational efficiency.
Key Achievements:- 50% reduction in embodied carbon over the entire 25-year lifecycle of the building: sustainable construction methods deployed from design to completion, setting a new benchmark for future projects: green walls and photovoltaic (PV) solar panels integrated into the building envelope: use of combined refrigeration/heating/cooling systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational emissions: reduction in materials intensity and greater focus on sustainable sourcing and construction practices.
Strategic Significance:- demonstrates a replicable model for low-carbon, high-efficiency store design, aligning with broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals: supports carbon reduction and net-zero ambitions, while also lowering total cost of ownership through energy-efficient systems: re-inforces brand positioning as an environmentally conscious retailer and sets the stage for further innovation in construction sustainability.
