I'm Stephen Lamb — Chartered MCIOB, 25 years in construction and property, now founder of NSV Consulting.

Most of my career was inside large UK retailers -  Sainsbury's, Tesco, latterly Director of Construction UK for the Co-op Group, where I led a £200m annual capex programme across the entire UK and NI estate. It taught me how to run complex programmes at scale, how to build and lead teams, and how to balance commercial discipline with the right thing to do for the people delivering the work.

In May 2025, after a period of personal change, I made the deliberate decision to step out and rebuild around the work I actually love. NSV is the result.

Since founding it in August 2025, I've worked with a Principal Accountable Person under the Building Safety Act 2022, helped a growing SME build its construction management capability from the inside, and acted as retained strategic advisor to a £20m main contractor. Three different shapes of engagement, one common thread: bringing senior credibility into complex situations, writing things down clearly, and leaving the team stronger.

What I bring is calm under pressure, hard-won judgement, and the deeply held belief that the documents matter but the people matter more.
